From A24/A272 crossroads (traffic lights), take A272 W. After 1 mile turn left to Shipley; follow brown signs.
Take first right and follow road round to car parking on left. Mill is down bridleway on left beyond house.
A 5-storey smock mill, built in 1879. The largest complete windmill in Sussex, restored in memory of Hilaire
Belloc, who owned it and the neighbouring house for 50 years. A 1940s Ruston engine has been installed to provide
power on windless days.
Opening times The windmill is now closed and cannot be visited.However it is possible to view the outside from
the adjacent public footpath.
