Quainton Windmill

About 7 miles north west of Aylesbury. At north side of village. Access through yard of private house.

A 6-storey tower mill built in 1832, which ceased working by wind in 1890, milled under steam until c 1914. Has a unique wrought iron cap.   Sails rebuilt, not traditionally. Mill now in working order. All machinery, except engine, remains.
 

Opening times
Every Sunday all year, 10.00 – 12.45, when volunteers working, plus every Thursday 12.00 - 17.00.
Parties welcome by appointment at other times.
