Pitstone Windmill, Ivinghoe

Half mile S of Ivinghoe, 3m NE of Tring, just W off B488, near junction with B489.

A 17th century post mill with a brick roundhouse, last worked in 1902. Believed to be one of the oldest post mills in the country. Restored to workable condition by volunteers in 1963-70, but no longer able to turn to wind. Owned by the National Trust.

Opening times 2016
Sundays and some bank holiday Mondays between mid May and end Aug, 14.00-17.00. Last entry to the mill is 5.30pm.
It is best to ring in advance to check that we have a volunteer to open the mill. See web site for dates.
