In Windmill Rise, Holgate. Leave York on A59 Harrogate road and one mile from City centre turn left
after the Fox public house.
A tarred 4-storey tower mill with an ogee cap and five sails. There are 4 pairs of millstones and other machinery inside. Restored to working order and once more milling corn.
Owned by City of York Council, leased to Holgate Windmill Preservation Society.
Opening times
For 2012 the mill will be open on the first and third weekends in every month and bank holidays, from April to October, from 11.00 to 16.00. Private tours are welcome
by prior arrangement.
