  Cromer Windmill, Ardeley

By B1037 ½ mile east of Cromer, 1 mile west of Cottered.

A white weatherboarded post mill, with black breast and roof; and a brick roundhouse. The last surviving in Hertfordshire.  The mill was built in 1740, and has two pairs of stones.  Major repairs took place in 1988.  Now fully restored with grants from English Heritage and the Lottery Heritage Fund. Owned by Hertfordshire Buildings Preservation Trust.

Opening times
National Mills Weekend to mid-September, 2nd & 4th Saturdays, Sundays & Bank Holidays. 14.30 - 17.00. Other times by appointment.
