Bocking Windmill

About 2 miles north of Braintree town centre, off Church Street, Bocking, ¾ mile west of A131.
A post mill with a 2-storey roundhouse, built in 1721 and moved to its present site in 1829.
It ceased working at the outbreak of the First World War and was renovated externally in the 1980s
and internally in the 1990s. Most machinery remains. Souvenirs and guide books on sale.
Opening times May bank holiday Monday, 11.00 - 17.00; Tuesday June 5th; late Spring Bank Holiday Monday; then last Sundays in July, August and September, 14.00-17.00. Please call for details. Parties by arrangement at other times.
National Mills Weekend opening times Sunday only, 14.00-17.00.
