A 19th century watermill with two large waterwheels and working machinery. Hard flint was ground to supply the pottery industry, and later, chalk was ground for the paint, putty and pharmaceutical industries. Refreshments. Shop. Displays of industrial history and social life.

Guided tours only, all year Saturdays & Sundays, 13.00-17.00. School holidays also Tuesday to Friday, 10.00-17.00. Last tour 15.15.

National Mills Weekend opening times 2016
Saturday & Sunday, 13.00-17.00. Last admissions 15.30.  If you visit Thwaite Mills you will get free admission to Armley Mills during the weekend.
