A 5-storey Georgian cotton mill, built in 1784. Now a working museum of the cotton textile industry, with working looms and other machinery, powered by a 50-ton Fairbairn waterwheel and a working 1840s steam engine.  Owned by the National Trust. 

Opening Times
March to October, daily, 11.00 - 17.00. November to Mid-December and January  & February, Wednesday - Sunday 11.00 - 16.00.  Christmas break, see web site.  
Groups during opening hours by prior arrangement.
