The 50-ft diameter suspension waterwheel, built in Caernarfon in 1870, provided power for the Dinorwic slate quarry workshops and ran until 1925. The wheel again turns, and the workshops and foundry are restored as one of the attractions at the National Slate Museum. One of the National Museums and Galleries of Wales. Café & gift shop. Slate splitting demonstrations, restored slate-carrying incline and quarrymens' houses.
