    Rowlestone Mill

Location
Grid reference -
SO370270
OS Sheet - 161.

Entrance to mill is ¼ mile down hill to W (towards Walterstone from Rowlestone church) One of the more remote corn mills, in a steep, wooded valley. It worked until the end of the war, but lost most of its machinery soon afterwards. It retains its external overshot waterwheel, and this will be turning. The water for the wheel was taken from the top of a waterfall, some distance upstream, and the leat to the mill is dramatic.
