Raindale Watermill, York Castle Museum

In the centre of York, at the Castle Museum.
This mill stood originally on the North Yorkshire moors at the foot of
the Raindale valley, near Pickering. Moved to the museum in 1953 and
restored to turning order, with a 14ft overshot waterwheel dating from
around 1800 and a single pair of millstones. The mill is currently
undergoing extensive repairs and is not operational at present.
Opening times
Museum hours: daily, 9.30-17.00. Mill not normally open in winter months.
National Mills Weekend opening times
Saturday and Sunday, 9.30-17.00.
