On A44, at Ponterwyd about 11 miles E of Aberystwyth. Look for brown signs.
A traditional Welsh water-powered metal mine, which worked between 1745 and 1910. This mine produced
ores of silver-lead and zinc, transported by sea to South Wales for smelting. Several examples of waterwheels
and water-powered machinery are displayed. Underground tours. Rock and mineral shop. Tea and coffee shop.
Opening times
April to August, daily, 10.00-18.00. September and October, daily, 11.00-17.00.
Closed on Saturdays except at Easter and in August. Parties at other times by arrangement, including winter months.
