A traditional Cumbrian watermill with two overshot waterwheels, built about 1750, and extended about 1870 to enable oatmeal production. In full operation, producing a range of organic and biodynamic stoneground flours.

Opening times

Daily all year, 10.30-17.00, except Christmas to 31st January. Mill tours: Mondays, Tuesdays Thursdays & Sundays.

National Mills Weekend opening times

Saturday and Sunday, 10.30 - 17.00. Mill tours, Saturday and Sunday, 12.00, 14.00, 15.30. Free breadmachine demos, Saturday 11.00 and Sunday 12.00, using unbleached white flour; Saturday 14.00 and Sunday 15.00 using 100% wholewheat flour. Breadmaking course, Saturday 10.00 to 16.00, £75 including coffee, lunch and tea. Booking essential. Free breadmaking demos, Sunday 11.30, 13.00, 14.30.
