Le Moulin de Leq, Jersey

Grid reference:WV 583 549
Close to La Greve du Leq, on the North side of the Island.

A 2-storey watermill, at one time a fulling mill, with parts dating back to the 12th century. The wheel weighs 18 tons and has a diameter of 21 ft. The Germans  requisitioned the wheel to generate power for their searchlight batteries throughout the war years.  It is now a free house inn and restaurant, featuring what must be the only bar backed by a pitwheel and with the great spurwheel overhead.
