One mile south of Milnthorpe and six miles north of Carnforth on A6. Brown signs at entrance to Beetham. On M6, take exit 35 to Carnforth.

The mill dates from about 1740 and has some contemporary machinery. A Lowder mill with four pairs of millstones and an internal high breast waterwheel, all working. Picnic area. A turbine has been installed in the river to produce electricity, which can be viewed from the mill.

Opening times

Wednesday to Sunday and bank holidays, all year, 11.00-16.00. Group guided tours by appointment.
