In Gayle, 1m N of Hawes. No parking at the mill except disabled; park in Hawes and walk.

A 3 storey watermill built in 1784-5 as a cotton-spinning mill, with an overshot waterwheel, subsequently used for flax and wool spinning, later modified as a woodworking mill with two turbines. Now again in use as a woodworking mill, run by a trust.

Booked tours only. 3rd April to 29th September, tours at 13.00 & 15.00 Sunday to Friday.

Advance booking strongly advised. Groups of 15 or more may book tours at other times that are mutually convenient.
