In Gayle, 1m N of Hawes. No parking at the mill except disabled; park in Hawes and walk.
A 3 storey watermill built in 1784-5 as a cotton-spinning mill, with an overshot waterwheel,
subsequently used for flax and wool spinning, later modified as a woodworking mill with two turbines.
Now again in use as a woodworking mill, run by a trust.
Opening times Booked tours only. April to June tours at 14.00 & 15.30 daily except Mondays. July to September as above plus additional tours Tuesday to Friday, 11.00 and 12.30.
Advance booking strongly advised. Groups of 15 or more may book tours at other times that are mutually convenient.
