  Dalgarven Watermill, Kilwhinning

On A737, half way between Kilwinning and Dalry.  Look for sign.

A 3-storey grain mill with 20-ft breastshot waterwheel and 3 sets of stones. Built in 1640 and rebuilt 1890s after a fire. Attached granary houses a museum of country life and costume. Now run by a charitable trust.  Coffee shop with home baking and light meals.

Opening Times
Easter to September, Tuesday to Saturday, 10.00 - 17.00, Sunday, 11.00 - 17.00.
October to Easter, Tuesday to Friday, 10.00 – 16.00, Saturday and Sunday, 10.00 - 17.00.  Parties by appointment.
