Off A66, 7 miles E of Penrith, 1 mile from Temple Sowerby. Follow signs for National Trust Acorn Bank.

A water powered corn mill rebuilt about 150 years ago on an earlier site. It also served as a sawmill and powered a local gypsum mine. A 2-storey sandstone building with a granary and a kiln. One of the three waterwheels is still in place with two pairs of millstones. Owned by the National Trust.   

Opening Times
Mid-March to October, Wednesday to Sunday,& Bank Holiday Mondays,  10.00 - 17.00.  End February - Mid-March Saturday & Sunday only. Parties at other times by arrangement.
